5 Singapore Islands to Explore With Friends

Are you and your co-living roommates looking for a unique escape from bustling city life? Singapore has plenty to offer besides shopping malls. Nature enthusiasts searching for a unique experience can head for an adventurous island getaway.

Here are 5 Singapore islands to explore during your downtime.

1. Sentosa Island

The best known of Singapore’s islands, Sentosa Island is not exactly a hidden gem. With its wide range of attractions, it’s popular with tourists and locals alike. While many will make a beeline for attractions such as Universal Studios, Adventure Cove Waterpark, the S.E.A. Aquarium and Madame Tussauds, Sentosa has a lot more to offer.

If you are a beach goer, enjoy a spot of sunbathing at Siloso Beach, Palawan Beach or Tanjong Beach. Sentosa also boasts beautiful nature trails. So put on your sneakers and enjoy the island’s lush greenery at the Historical Trail, Mount Imbiah Nature Trail or the Coastal Trail.

2. Pulau Ubin

Pulau Ubin offers a rustic, back-to-nature experience that will resonate with all nature lovers. The best way to get around the island to explore its rugged terrain is to rent a bicycle. While there, you’ll come across the simple rustic charm of kampong life.

Head to the Chek Jawa Wetlands, a rich ecosystem teeming with biodiversity, that has mangrove swamps, rocky beaches and coastal forests. You can also take a short hike up Puaka Hill for awesome views overlooking the Ubin Quarry.

3. Lazarus Island

Lazarus Island is a hidden paradise with powdery white sand crystal-clear waters. This is your ideal spot if you want to spend an idyllic day at the beach.

Bring along food for a picnic and bask in the sun as you unwind. This will make for a peaceful escapade where you can reconnect with nature.

4. Coney Island

Coney Island offers a unique blend of natural beauty and urban escape. With its network of winding trails, this makes it the perfect destination to spend a day hiking or cycling.

Look out for the diverse wildlife, take a break on the beaches or watch the sunset.

5. St John’s Island

St John’s Island is another place where you can spend a relaxing day enjoying panoramic seaviews.

Visit the National Marine Laboratory to learn more about conservation efforts, enjoy a picnic at the beach, or take a slow walk around the island while appreciating nature.
