Secured a place to study in Nanyang Technological University (NTU)? If you’d rather not stay on campus and prefer to stay in off-campus accommodation instead, some of the popular residential areas you can consider are Jurong West, Boon Lay or Pioneer.
First off, NTU is situated near Jurong West, which is at the Western part of Singapore. The two closest stations to NTU are Boon Lay and Pioneer, which are both part of the East-West line. There are buses from both stations which can drop you off at NTU.
As NTU lies closer towards the end of the Western part of the East-West MRT line, it would make sense for you to live near that part of Singapore (as opposed to the Eastern part of Singapore). Otherwise, you will have to spend a significant amount of time travelling to uni!
One of the accommodation options students can consider is renting a room in a co-living unit. This is because the rental also includes housekeeping services, utilities, wifi and regular maintenance such as aircon servicing. Plus, co-living units are fully-furnished. This makes it very easy and convenient for students as the units are move-in ready.

Lakeside MRT Station
Lakeside MRT station is just one and two stops away from Boon Lay and Pioneer stations respectively. If you are fitness enthusiast, living near Lakeside MRT would be perfect for you. That’s because it’s just next to the Jurong Lake Gardens.
Get your daily exercise by squeezing in morning or evening jog around the lake. With the Boon Lay Place Market and Food Village is not far off, you’ll have plenty of affordable meal choices too.

Boon Lay MRT Station
Living near Boon Lay MRT Station offers all-round convenience. That’s because the bus to NTU departs from the Boon Lay Bus Interchange, which is right next to Boon Lay MRT Station.
Plus, the Jurong Point shopping mall is right at the door step of Boon Lay MRT station. With more than 350 retail stores, a supermarket, plenty of F&B options and even a cinema, Jurong Point has plenty to offer. Another plus point of living near Boon Lay is that the Jurong Central Park is right across from the station too.
