5 New Places To Explore in Singapore That Opened In 2023

By July 31, 2023No Comments

If you’ve embraced the full co-living experience, living with your other flatmates can offer various opportunities for shared adventures and memorable experiences. Looking for new places to explore together in Singapore. Here are 5 newly-opened places in 2023 that you can check out.

For animal lovers

Bird Paradise

Bird Paradise is the latest attraction by Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Its avian residents moved from their former home at Jurong Bird Park to its new location in mid-2023. There are 8 walk-through aviaries to explore featuring the habitats of various species of birds such as marshy wetlands, rainforests, even a penguin cove. Our favourite is the Lory Loft aviary where you can come up close and personal with colourful lories and parrots. Don’t forget to check out the Predators on Wings and Wings of the World programmes at the amphiteathre.

For hikers

Rail Corridor (North)

If you love hiking, make sure to visit the reopened 6km section of the Rail Corridor between Kranji and Hillview MRT stations. This stretch has been upgraded and hikers can now enjoy a 21km walking trail. Among the highlights along the trail area a new steel bridge embedded with railway tracks above Hillview Road, as well as access to a nature trail along the Kranji node.

For culture lovers

Peranakan Museum

The Peranakan Museum has reopened its doors after undergoing a 3-year renovation. Featuring a new design and new permanent galleries with over 800 objects on display, the museum provides a fascinating insight into the heritage of the Peranakan community – people with mixed Chinese and Malay heritage. The extensive collection of artifacts, heirlooms and historical objects highlight different aspects of Peranakan culture and traditions including food, fashion and family life.

For active people

Home Team NS Bedok Reservoir

If you’re looking for a day out that’s packed with fun-filled activities, then head on over to the Home Team NS Bedok Reservoir. The place has a 3-story indoor waterpark called Aqua Adventure where you can go on Singapore’s longest indoor water slide, challenge yourself on the aquatic challenge rope course or simply relax in the laze pool. In the clubhouse, there’s also a digital active experience arena, featuring augmented reality bouldering walls, trampolines and an obstacle course.

For mall lovers

Woodleigh Mall

Woodleigh Mall is a cosy neighbourhood mall conveniently connected to Woodleigh MRT on the North East line. While not as big as other shopping malls and with only a small base of retail tenants, Woodleigh Mall does offer a plethora of food options. It also has a 24-hour Fairprice Finest supermarket, so if you live near there and want to avoid the crowds while needing to stock up on groceries, that’s one option for you.
